Roehampton joins the JISC Flexible Service Delivery Programme

July 14th, 2009 by John King

The University has been successful in a bid to the JISC for funding to join the Flexible Service Delivery Programme, Strategic Technologies Group.  This will be a huge step forward in getting together with others working on EA and SOA. It will mean that University staff will be able to contribute to the strategy, to the detailed work on modelling and SOA and also to get involved with suppliers and with other experts in the field.  Project runs for 18 months from August 2009.

Project Cairo

June 11th, 2009 by John King

Peeking timidly out from under my fez, here I go for my first blog.  Project Cairo, 18 month project started October 2008 – enterprise architecture relevance to HE, trialling The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF), starting to use the business modelling tool BizzDesign Architect which uses the Archimate language, starting to redesign processes using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles.  Involved with the JISC Enterprise Architecture in HE Practice Group.  Anything which I care to expose to the world is currently available on the external website www.roehampton.ac.uk/cairo This includes our project documentation, plans and so on and a couple of recent additions – case studies of the modelling and SOA progress so far.  There you go – that wasnt too hard!!!
